Role description · Responsible for leading market, technology and competitor analysis, in support of product management activities. Understanding key market dynamics, customer needs and competitive activities. Working with executive team to assess internal capabilities, and identify product development opportunities that ensure strong competitive · Responsible for product line analysis and forecasting. Working with Sales, conduct routine analysis of product trends (revenue, unit sales, won/lost customers, profitability, etc.) · Responsible for developing product launch plan, and coordinating launch activity. Responsible for developing marketing programs or informational content to maximize penetration of desired market segments · Responsible for developing pricing and product line strategies through synthesis of above information with other market data and working with Sales, Product Development, Operations, and Business Development · Responsible for helping to define, coordinate and/or provide, as appropriate, training and sales support, technology collaboration and licensing and other activities, with Sales, Product Development, Business Development, as appropriate · Responsible for scoping, executing, and managing relationships with external vendors, in support of above-mentioned activities
Target experience · 7+ years’ previous marketing and/or sale in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industries, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and aggressive product sales growth · Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills · Demonstrated experience building and managing successful marketing organizations, including direct and indirect reports and management of business partners · Proven interpersonal and team skills. Able to effectively contribute to, influence, and make decisions on cross-functional team · Knowledge of the key pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic life science research centers throughout North America, Europe, and Asia · Outstanding organizational, planning, and process development skills · Strong formal presentation and negotiation skills
Education · Either an MBA or a Ph.D. in life sciences preferred, but not required · BS/BA in molecular biology or other life sciences field
